Lemon and Aloe Vera Deep Cleansing Hair Mask

It’s a new month and the beginning of a great season. What better way to start than with a clean, fresh slate? Let’s get into this natural deep cleansing hair mask made with lemon juice and aloe vera gel.

I have always used aloe vera in my various hair routines; to moisturize or to deep condition but never to cleanse and I was pleasantly surprised when I spontaneously tried this mixture.

You are free to decide how much of each product you use to concoct your mixture but these were the ingredients I used:

  1. One leaf of aloe vera (fairly thick)
  2. Two medium-sized lemons.

To prepare I followed these steps:

  1. Rinse aloe vera leaf
  2. Remove spikes carefully
  3. Scrape gel from aloe vera plant
  4. Cut lemon and remove seeds
  5. Add lemon juice and aloe gel to blender and blend
  6. Strain mixture.

Before shampooing I rinsed my hair with water and placed it into small sections. I then poured the mixture unto my scalp and massaged it in. I felt a slight tingling sensation and the oils on my scalp started to break apart as I did so. To be honest the lemon juice instantly added some well-needed freshness; I needed it after all the product buildup I had. I followed with my usual wash day routine.

Added Moisture.

The moisturizing benefits of the aloe vera really comes into effect in this mixture. It counteracts the acidity of the lemon juice making the mixture easy on the skin while simultaneously conditioning the hair. My hair felt soft even after shampooing twice.

Upon completing the whole routine, I had soft, clean and shiny hair. I would definitely recommend adding this hair mask to your wash day routine at least once every other month.

I’ll list the benefits of both aloe gel and lemon juice below:

I must admit, initially this mixture just popped up in my head and I underestimated the results but I guess that’s good when they turn out exceptionally don’t you think? Exactly, I agree.

I hope you enjoy this season and would have enjoyed this blog entry.
