Best Jamaican Female Artists’ Hairstyles of 2020

Jamaican female artists always have great hairstyles and looks. 2020 has not stopped the party even with all that’s happening. What were your favorites? Think about it while I get into the looks that I think stood out the most to me this year.

Lila Iké. The ‘Forget Me’ singer is a natural hair queen and she always delivers iconic looks in her music videos and on stage. She hasn’t disappointed before and this year she has worn enviable looks that became my favorites as soon as they were posted to her Instagram. From classic bantu knots to braids and bedazzled edges, she rocked them all.

Stalk Ashley. “Right we now we still young” and we all need great hairstyles like the ones channeled by Stalk Ashley in her single ‘Open’ styled by the creative BootlegRocstar. The magic in these looks were just what I needed.

Ishawna. Miss Legendary herself rocked two styles so well that even though I’ve seen them on other women, I couldn’t help but recognize that she wore them best. I mean this bob though?!

Jane Macgizmo. The treasures were in the details of these scarves and head-ties that Jane sprung on us. The satin one with the gold jewelry is my absolute favorite.

Denyque. The ‘Supergirl’ saved the summer for me when she rocked these jumbo faux locs in the summer. They might have been popular but they didn’t all look this natural and bomb. When she put her hair in two high puffs, it was too cute to not be one of my favorites.

Shaniel Muir. The real ‘Top Gyal’ had to be in my favorites list because she pulled off these colored hairstyles like only a top girl could. I couldn’t choose which color suited her more.

Shenseea. If I had to rank any of these looks in this list, I would have definitely put the ‘Tricka Treat’ boss’ safety pins look at number one. The way she rocked these braids and ponytails though, I couldn’t leave them off at all. The pink wig gave me pure treat vibes.

Sevana. The biggest hair I’ve ever seen was gifted to us by the ‘Mango’ songbird and I dare say: the bedazzled hairpins look was as sweet as the tropical fruit.

Jada Kingdom. I think it is safe to say Jada ‘Budum-ed’ my heart with the platinum lowcut and then budum bumed me again when she dropped this post-halloween Cruella de Vil look she sported at a recent show.

Spice. The Queen of Dancehall herself is known for her blue hair but she gave some new looks in 2020. She dropped her single ‘Inches’ and she dropped wigs to go with it too, the floor-length pink braids gave me Rapunzel vibes and pulled me in and then the regal crown wrapped me in majestic vibes. If she ever decides to stop wearing blue, the light blonde/ pure diamond wigs would be perfect replacements.

Any of these hairstyles took 2020 for you? Comment and let me know. I will updated this post if I see any new looks that may become my favorite.

Thanks for reading and I’ll see you tomorrow. Have a great hair day!
